My work in policy, program and project management was a natural extension of my communications experience. I took on strategic grant-making and coalition-building efforts at a nonprofit before finishing my master’s in public administration and going on to do policy analysis for a state agency. I brought all these disciplines together as a consultant for a public involvement firm. That role gave me the opportunity to manage staff and clients, develop communications strategies, and build and manage tools for successful project delivery — all in service to better outcomes for the public.
